How to Create a Hotspot in Windows 11

Windows 11 allows you to create a hotspot and share your internet connection with other devices. Follow these steps to enable and configure a mobile hotspot on your PC.

Part 1: Turning on the Mobile Hotspot

Step 1: Open Settings

  • Click the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Alternatively, press ⊞ Win+I to open Settings directly.

Step 2: Enable Mobile Hotspot

  • Go to Network & Internet in the left panel.
  • Click on Mobile hotspot and toggle it On.

Step 3: View Hotspot Details

  • Click on Mobile hotspot to expand settings.
  • Under Properties, you will find the network name and password.

Part 2: Configuring the Mobile Hotspot

Step 1: Select Internet Source

  • Under “Share my internet connection from”, choose Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or Cellular.

Step 2: Choose Sharing Method

  • Under “Share over”, select Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Step 3: Enable Power Saving (Optional)

  • Power saving mode turns off the hotspot if no devices are connected.
  • Toggle this option based on your preference.

Step 4: Edit Hotspot Name & Password

  • Click Edit under Network Properties.
  • Enter a new network name and password (at least 8 characters).
  • Select a network band: 2.4GHz for longer range, 5GHz for faster speed.
  • Click Save to apply changes.

Now your Windows 11 hotspot is ready, and other devices can connect using the network name and password you set.
