How to Create a Hotspot in Windows 11
Windows 11 allows you to create a hotspot and share your internet connection with other devices. Follow these steps to enable and configure a mobile hotspot on your PC.
Part 1: Turning on the Mobile Hotspot
Step 1: Open Settings
- Click the Start menu and select Settings.
- Alternatively, press ⊞ Win+I to open Settings directly.
Step 2: Enable Mobile Hotspot
- Go to Network & Internet in the left panel.
- Click on Mobile hotspot and toggle it On.
Step 3: View Hotspot Details
- Click on Mobile hotspot to expand settings.
- Under Properties, you will find the network name and password.
Part 2: Configuring the Mobile Hotspot
Step 1: Select Internet Source
- Under “Share my internet connection from”, choose Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or Cellular.
Step 2: Choose Sharing Method
- Under “Share over”, select Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Step 3: Enable Power Saving (Optional)
- Power saving mode turns off the hotspot if no devices are connected.
- Toggle this option based on your preference.
Step 4: Edit Hotspot Name & Password
- Click Edit under Network Properties.
- Enter a new network name and password (at least 8 characters).
- Select a network band: 2.4GHz for longer range, 5GHz for faster speed.
- Click Save to apply changes.
Now your Windows 11 hotspot is ready, and other devices can connect using the network name and password you set.
