How to Bring an Off-Screen Window Back on Windows
If you have a window that has moved off-screen and is no longer accessible, there are several quick methods to bring it back. This issue often occurs when using multiple monitors or after changing screen resolutions.
Method 1: Using Keyboard Shortcuts
- Click the taskbar icon of the off-screen window to ensure it is selected.
- Press and hold the Windows key (Win) on your keyboard.
- Use the Arrow keys (← → ↑ ↓) to move the window back into view.
- If the window doesn’t appear, press Win + Shift + Arrow keys to snap it to another side of the screen.
Method 2: Cascade or Stack All Windows
- Right-click on the Windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
- Select Cascade windows or Show windows stacked.
- All open windows, including the off-screen one, should now be visible.
Method 3: Using Alt + Tab
- Press Alt + Tab and hold down the Alt key.
- Use the Tab key to navigate through the open applications.
- Release Alt when the off-screen window is selected.
- Press Win + Arrow keys to move the window into view.
