If you are trying to install an application on Windows 11 but receive the error message “The app isn’t a Microsoft verified app” and cannot change the setting, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Step 1: Change App Installation Settings
To allow app installations from any source:
- Open Settings by pressing
Windows + I
. - Go to Apps → Advanced App Settings.
- Find the option Choose where to get apps.
- Set it to Anywhere.
If this option is unavailable, you may be running Windows 11 in S Mode.
Step 2: Check If Your PC Is in S Mode
Windows 11 in S Mode only allows apps from the Microsoft Store. To check if your device is in S Mode:
